Ground source heat pumps

Constant temperature, constant savings

Ground heat pump is a solution for people looking for a stable and efficient heating system all year round – regardless of the weather. In Polish climate conditions, it is one of the most frequently chosen solutions. The pump draws energy from the ground, where the temperature remains practically constant even in winter. Thanks to this, the system works reliably even in severe frosts – without sudden drops in efficiency.

How does a ground-source heat pump work?

A ground heat pump works on the same principle as an air heat pump – the difference is the energy source. In this case, heat is drawn from the ground using a ground heat exchanger. It can be installed in three ways:
  • as a horizontal collector – placed shallowly below the ground surface,
  • as vertical probes – deep boreholes, even up to 100 m,
  • as a horizontal collector with direct evaporation – an even more efficient option.
In some cases, the lower source can also be a water reservoir – especially where ground conditions are unfavourable.

Opinions about Problast

Why is it worth investing in a ground-source heat pump?

  • Year-round efficiency Constant ground temperature = stable pump operation regardless of external conditions.
  • Lower bills Ground pumps achieve a very high coefficient of efficiency (COP). It simply pays off.
  • Comfort and silence No external unit – nothing makes noise under the window.
  • Long service life Ground installation works without problems for up to 30 years.

What do you need to know before installation?

A ground pump is a long-term investment. It is more expensive to install than an air pump – it requires drilling or an extensive collector. But in return you get higher efficiency and reliability for years. That is why it is worth planning the system well at the home design stage. We help with that.

Problast specialists are here for this!

You don’t need to know anything about drilling, COP coefficients or exchanger types. That’s what we’ve got for you. At Problast, we deal with heat pumps from A to Z – from the first conversation, through the design, to installation and service. We listen, analyze and propose solutions that really fit your home and budget.
